Future Homes Standard: coordination matters.

England’s Future Homes and Buildings Standards were published on 24 March 2026 and the main changes come into force on 24 March 2027, subject to transitional and higher risk building arrangements. The standards do not require Loxone or home automation. They do increase the importance of correctly designed controls, commissioning and homeowner information around low carbon building services.

Common developer questions.

When should a developer involve Inteto?

Ideally during concept or technical design, before controls, cabling, plant interfaces and resident handover arrangements are fixed.

Does Loxone replace every specialist system?

No. It provides the automation and coordination layer. Heat pumps, inverters, EV chargers, ventilation, alarms and other systems retain their specialist functions and are integrated where suitable interfaces are available.

Can a development use a standard base specification with upgrades?

Yes. A repeatable core specification can be designed for energy and building control, with optional enhancements such as lighting scenes, shading, access, security integration and audio.

Can Inteto guarantee energy savings or Future Homes Standard compliance?

No. Compliance remains with the project design team, assessors and building control, and energy outcomes depend on the building, equipment, commissioning, tariff and occupant behaviour.
