Why not just use Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, Home Assistant or Homey?
Good question. In the right project, these platforms can be useful. The mistake is treating them all as the same thing. Some are great control layers. Some are great hobbyist platforms. For Inteto projects, Loxone is the professional building automation backbone.
Apple Home, Google Home and Alexa
Excellent for voice control, quick app access, simple scenes and compatible consumer smart devices.
But they are not usually the right foundation for the core operating logic of a building. They often depend on a mix of cloud accounts, hubs, manufacturer integrations and platform rules.
Home Assistant, Homey and similar systems
Powerful, flexible and often brilliant for enthusiasts who enjoy custom dashboards, rapid experimentation and niche integrations.
The trade off is ownership. Someone needs to maintain it, update it, troubleshoot it and understand how it has been put together.
Loxone
Designed to be professionally planned, commissioned and handed over as part of the property infrastructure.
The Miniserver runs the core logic locally, so everyday behaviours like lighting, heating, shading and scenes are not built around a cloud app or a hobby project.
The right setup is not always either/or. Use Apple, Google or Alexa where voice control makes sense. Use specialist systems where they add value. But keep the critical building logic on a resilient Loxone backbone.

Already have Echo, Google Nest or Apple HomePod?
That can still be part of the experience. The right approach is to use smart speakers as a familiar way to ask the building to do something, not as the system that runs the building.
Voice control where it helps
If you already use Alexa, Google Home, Apple HomePod or Siri, we can usually design around that. Voice can be useful for simple requests such as scenes, lighting, room comfort or shading where supported.
Integration without the guesswork
Apple households can use Loxone with Apple HomeKit and Siri on compatible current Miniserver systems. Alexa and Google options can be assessed through routes such as Matter or specialist bridge services where appropriate.
Voice is not the backbone
Smart speakers are great for commands. Loxone is better for decisions. The local automation logic for lighting, heating, shading and building behaviour stays in the system designed to handle it.
Simple version: use smart speakers for convenience. Use Loxone for the backbone.
